Joe signed for Queens Park Rangers over a host of other interested parties following his released from boy-hood club Portsmouth.
The young defender had been at Fratton Park since the age of eight while also a season ticket holder with Pompey.
His release came to the attention of several clubs with Premier League sides being linked with his signature.
He kept his fitness up by joining Bognor Regis Town for a brief period towards the end of the 2007-08 campaign before switching to W12 under the guidance of Iain Dowie.
He played in a handful of friendlies pre-season, but is yet to make a first team appearance for QPR.
He had a brief but successful spell at Salisbury City alongside fellow Rangers man Lee Brown - but they could not be resigned owing to financial troubled at the Raymond McEnhill Stadium.
In 2010-11 he joined League Two side Torquay United on loan where he featured predominantly from the bench. Following his release in June 2011 he joined the Gulls on a permanent basis.
