The midfielder came up through Rangers' centre of excellence and made his first team debut in a home defeat by Port Vale in the Carling Cup.

He joined Yeovil Town on loan and impressed at the heart of defence for the Glovers, subsequently having a second loan spell.

He returned to Loftus Road in a bid to impress Mark Hughes, before eventually signing for Preston North End on loan.

He impressed sufficiently to be taken on tour to the far east prior to the 2012-13 season, laying on a couple of assists to enhance his reputation.

He left on loan to Stevenage and featured heavily in their League One campaign.
