The man-mountain Dan Shittu started off life at Charlton Athletic, but with chances limited at the Premier League outfit he was loaned out initially to Blackpool, then Queens Park Rangers.

Shittu shone under the guidance of Ian Holloway in a move that saw Rangers rise to the playoffs only to lose out narrowly to Cardiff City.

Nevertheless, QPR came back stronger and Shittu was a stalwart at the heart of the rearguard as the R's gained promotion to the Championship.

Following the departure of Ian Holloway, Shittu eyed the exit door and newly-promoted Watford fit the bill for the Nigerian. After a hit and miss spell with the Hornets, particularly after life back in the Championship.

Bolton Wanderers snapped up Shittu for £2m, and despite initial positive signs the defender was left out in the cold for an entire campaign - prompting his release and subsequent departure.

He signed a short-term deal with Millwall before opting to link up with QPR once more as they fought for promotion - turning down an extension at the Den in the process.

After making a league cup apperance at QPR, he was excluded from the 25 man squad and subsequently released once more at the end of the 2011-12 campaign.
