Coming up through the ranks at Arsenal, Traoré worked as understudy to the likes of Ashley Cole and Kieran Gibbs he found opportunities limited - and joined Portsmouth in a loan deal.

He put in some positive appearances for Pompey where he netted a goal in 19 appearances. Then followed a move to Italian giants Juventus where he appeared in the Europa League.

His days at Arsenal were numbered, and came to an abrupt end after the 8-2 away defeat to Manchester United - he joined QPR days later.

Publically criticised by Neil Warnock for a late red card against Aston Villa, injuries continued to hamper his progress as he made fleeting appearances both in Rangers two relegation and promotion under Harry Redknapp where he operated as a left-winger in the main.
