Under 18's - QPR 3-1 Wycombe Wanderers

Queens Park Rangers youngsters opened their account in style at home to Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday.

The under-18 side raced into a one goal lead inside 90 seconds when converted striker Elliott Cox fired home powerfully from a far post corner.

In their second game of the season following a 1-1 draw with Barnet at Bisham Abbey on the opening day, the Chairboys equalised with a simple ball over the top finished off well past keeper Aaron Hunter.

The impressive Cox helped haul the R`s back infront as his cross found its way to Frankie Sutherland. The Republic of Ireland U17 international nodded home in emphatic fashion from close range.

It was Cox the chief tormentor once more to round off the scoring as his cross found Sam Bewick, the former Millwall man did the rest nodding home from once more from close range.

The young Rangers now travel to Luton Town`s Ely Way training ground in a bid to extending their positive start to the season.

QPR: Hunter, Harriman, Waters, Ehmer, Bailey, Olley, Perring, Doughty, Cox, Molloy, Graham.

Bench: Sutherland, Parmenter, Bewick, Fernandez, Sanderson

I attended this game and although we won very comfortably in the end the scoreline flattered us. I would say we have quite a strong youth team in place and under the guidence of steve gallen and birch they should progress well. And if i could just give a special mention to my man of the match- Michael Harriman at right back, not much got passed him and he did his job with very little fuss. But all in all a decent performance all round and hopefully we will see a couple of the youth players push through this year.
